Anyone else feeling on edge lately?

I've been at Broadcom for 8 years, in the networking division. Lately, things feel...different. The usual happy hour vibe is gone. There are a lot more closed-door meetings than usual. My skip-level manager has been unusually chatty, asking about my 'future goals' and 'career aspirations' at Broadcom...which feels like HR-speak to me. Anyone else picking up weird vibes? I'm not sure if it's just paranoia, but my anxiety is through the roof. I'm starting to dust off my resume, just in case.

Start documenting everything *now* – projects you've led, contributions you've made, positive feedback. Make it easy to quantify your value. That way, if the worst happens, you have concrete evidence to support your job search and any potential negotiation.

Honestly, it could be nothing. Every big company goes through phases. Remember back in '18 when everyone thought the sky was falling after the Symantec acquisition? Turned out to be mostly a blip. Maybe your skip-level is just trying to be a good manager. Still, updating your resume is never a bad idea. Consider it a professional development exercise, regardless of what happens with Broadcom.
