Anyone on the manufacturing side hearing anything?

I'm in manufacturing operations, been at Broadcom for about 7 years now. We haven't had any major shifts or announcements, but there's been a lot of 'streamlining' discussions happening at the higher levels. I've heard whispers about consolidating certain sites or processes, but nothing concrete. Just trying to gauge if the pressure is building in other areas too. It feels different from the usual business cycle stuff. Are the Fab folks or equipment engineers seeing any changes or conversations that seem... off?

Did anyone else notice the hiring freeze suddenly went into effect?

Seriously, I was told we were actively recruiting for my team (software engineering, been here 4 years), and then yesterday all the open reqs just vanished. My manager looked really uncomfortable when I asked about it. It feels like something big is coming, but nobody is saying anything. It's like they're waiting for a specific date or something. My previous company did this right before a massive wave of layoffs. Just trying to get a sense if this is localized to my org or a company-wide thing. Anyone else seeing this happen?

Layoff Report

Just saw 3 open headcount disappear...WTF?

So, I was just on Workday checking on the status of a referral I put in for a friend (we desperately need people!), and I noticed THREE open positions on my team (software engineering) are now GONE. Like, completely vanished. They were there yesterday, I swear. All three were for pretty senior roles too. No explanations, no announcements, nothing. My boss is out this week, so I can't ask him. This can't be good, right? I'm in the Boulder office. Anyone else seeing weirdness like this? I've been here 3 years and never seen anything like this happen before.

Quietly updating my resume...am I paranoid?

I've been at Broadcom (design verification) for almost 7 years now, and I generally like it here. But I can't shake this feeling that something's coming. My manager has been acting weird, super non-communicative. He used to be all about the team lunches and now he barely says good morning. Plus, I overheard some whispers in the break room about budget cuts. I know everyone's on edge, but this feels different than the usual end-of-quarter stress. I'm not trying to jump ship unnecessarily, but I also can't afford to be blindsided. Anyone else getting this vibe? I'm in Irvine, CA if that matters.

I'm so effing over this uncertainty!

Seriously, the constant layoff rumors are driving me insane. Every single week, there's a new post about impending doom. I'm in sales, and it's impossible to focus on my job when I'm constantly worried about losing it. The lack of transparency from management is infuriating. Just tell us what's going on! Are there layoffs coming or not? This constant anxiety is affecting my sleep, my relationships, and my overall well-being. I'm starting to resent this company, which sucks because I used to love working here. If they're planning layoffs, just rip off the band-aid already!

Hypothetical severance question - what to expect?

Okay, so let's say, *hypothetically*, Broadcom were to announce layoffs. What kind of severance package are we talking about? I've heard rumors of 2 weeks per year of service, but that seems low compared to other companies. I'm in engineering, been here for 5 years. Also, what about stock options? Do they vest immediately? I know it depends on the grant, but what's the general policy? Any insights from past Broadcom layoffs (or acquisitions) would be greatly appreciated. Trying to be prepared, just in case.

Anyone else feeling on edge lately?

I've been at Broadcom for 8 years, in the networking division. Lately, things feel...different. The usual happy hour vibe is gone. There are a lot more closed-door meetings than usual. My skip-level manager has been unusually chatty, asking about my 'future goals' and 'career aspirations' at Broadcom...which feels like HR-speak to me. Anyone else picking up weird vibes? I'm not sure if it's just paranoia, but my anxiety is through the roof. I'm starting to dust off my resume, just in case.

Rant: This place is a freaking pressure cooker

I'm so done. I've been busting my butt on this project for months, pulling late nights and weekends, and for what? The VP just swooped in and completely changed the requirements, AGAIN! This is the third time! And now they're acting like it's no big deal, just another 'pivot'. Seriously considering looking for another job. The stress here is insane. I'm in the ASIC division, and it feels like they just keep piling more and more on us without any regard for work-life balance. Anyone else feel like they're about to crack?

Hypothetically speaking, what kind of severance package would Broadcom offer?

Okay, so this is purely hypothetical, but I'm trying to get a sense of what to expect *if* Broadcom were to do layoffs. I'm in engineering, been here for 4 years. I know it varies based on role and tenure, but has anyone heard anything, or maybe have experience from previous companies, about what a typical severance package looks like? Like, weeks per year of service? Continued healthcare? Anything else I should be thinking about? Trying to be prepared, just in case.

Anyone else feeling super uneasy lately?

I've been at Broadcom for almost 7 years, in the Wireless Connectivity group. I usually love my job, but the atmosphere has been so weird the past few weeks. My manager seems stressed, and there's been a lot of closed-door meetings that I'm usually a part of. I know the market's been tough, and other companies have had layoffs, but Broadcom always seemed more stable. Anyone else picking up on this vibe? Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I can't shake the feeling that something is coming.
