Quiet period is unsettling – anyone hearing whispers for Q3?

Is anyone else feeling that weird sense of dread in the office lately? Since the VMware integration wrapped up, it feels like the energy in our org has shifted completely. I know we aren't seeing massive headlines right now, but the ‘walk on water’ rhetoric from the top is definitely starting to trickle down into the middle management meetings. My manager keeps acting like every project deliverable is a life-or-death situation, and the push for full-time RTO feels less like collaboration and more like they're just waiting for people to get fed up and leave on their own. I’ve been updating my resume every night this week just in case. The silence from HR regarding the next fiscal targets is deafening. Has anyone heard anything about further 'streamlining' across the non-VMware divisions? I’m trying to figure out if I’m being paranoid or if the writing is already on the wall.

The quiet period is just the calm before the Q3 earnings storm. Honestly, the shift you’re feeling is standard Broadcom playbook execution. They buy, they integrate, they squeeze, and then they drive profitability to the moon. Middle management is spiraling because the performance expectations are being ratcheted up to an unsustainable level. Don’t take the 'life-or-death' project urgency personally; it’s just the new baseline for justifying the headcount consolidation that happened post-VMware. Focus on your outputs, document everything, and keep your resume polished just in case the next wave of 'synergies' targets your department.

Stop looking for whispers and start reading the room. The dread you're feeling is exactly what happens when a company obsessed with efficiency takes over a culture that used to value 'innovation' over raw margin. The RTO push is just another tool to thin the herd without triggering mass layoffs, plain and simple. If you aren't already feeling the weight of the new performance metrics, you will soon. It’s not just you—everyone is walking on eggshells because the goalposts move every single week now. Keep your head down and ride it out if you have to, but don't expect the 'energy' to improve anytime soon.
