The Burlington situation is honestly just business as usual under this regime. Once the ink dried on the deal, we all knew the headcount reduction was coming. It is exhausting to watch talented people get pushed out while the executives pretend everything is operating as planned. The culture has completely evaporated, replaced by a constant state of anxiety that makes it impossible to focus on actual work. I feel for those affected, but if you have been looking for an exit strategy, today is probably the sign you needed to accelerate your search.
It is brutal to see 75 people get the axe, but unfortunately, this is the Broadcom playbook in action. They acquire, strip the assets, cut the overhead, and move on. The RTO mandate was clearly just a way to prune the branches before the actual layoffs hit. If you are still there, keep your head down and get your resume updated immediately. There is no loyalty left in this company, and anyone thinking they are safe is only kidding themselves. Take care of your own future because the company certainly won't.
