VMware acquisition aftermath - what's the real headcount situation?

Hey everyone, been lurking here since the VMware acquisition news. Everyone's talking about layoffs, and I've seen the headlines about VMware folks getting cut, but it feels a bit... distant. I'm in a different division at Broadcom, and while there's definitely an undercurrent of anxiety and whispers, I haven't seen or heard of any direct layoffs hitting my team or immediate colleagues. Management is giving the usual vague reassurances about 'streamlining operations' and 'synergies.' Anyone else in non-VMware roles at Broadcom experiencing anything concrete? Or is it all still concentrated on the acquired folks? Curious to hear what others are seeing on the ground.

It's a tricky situation for sure. From my perspective in a non-VMware adjacent group, the anxiety is definitely palpable. There's a lot of speculation, and while my immediate circle hasn't been directly impacted yet, you can feel the tension. Management's 'streamlining' talk doesn't exactly inspire confidence, and everyone's bracing for what might come next. Hard to get a clear picture when information is so guarded.

I'm in a similar boat. My team hasn't seen any direct cuts, but the general atmosphere is one of uncertainty. People are definitely watching closely and wondering when or if the axe will fall on their specific department. The lack of clear communication from leadership only fuels the rumors and makes it difficult to plan or feel secure in your role right now. Hopefully, things become clearer soon for everyone.
