Anyone else getting weird vibes in the All-Hands lately?

Is it just me, or does the executive team sound like they're reading from a different script every time they hop on a call? We keep hearing about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining our footprint,' but there hasn't been a clear roadmap for the quarter in months. I’ve noticed a lot of back-channel chatter about budget freezes and open headcount getting scrapped overnight without any explanation. My manager was acting super weird during our 1:1 yesterday—very vague, wouldn't look me in the eye when I asked about the Q4 project load. It feels like they're trying to keep morale high while they wait for the hammer to drop. Has anyone else heard any rumors about upcoming restructuring or project cancellations in your specific departments? I've been here for three years and usually, these vibe shifts precede some kind of announcement. Just trying to figure out if I should start polishing my resume this weekend or if I'm just being paranoid.

The 'operational efficiency' buzzword is code for incoming layoffs, plain and simple. We’ve seen this cycle before at Charter. When leadership starts acting cagey and avoiding direct answers about headcount, it usually means the bean counters are already mapping out the cuts. Keep your resume polished and start networking outside the company now. The lack of transparency isn't a bug; it's a feature to keep everyone off balance while they finalize the numbers.

I honestly think they’re just as lost as the rest of us. The shift in tone during the All-Hands suggests that even senior management is being kept in the dark by the higher-ups. It feels like they're scrambling to react to market shifts without a cohesive plan. It’s definitely draining, but until an official announcement hits, it's all just speculation. Just focus on your core tasks and try not to burn out from the rumors—everyone is feeling the same anxiety right now.
