Cisco cutting 400+ in California AGAIN - are we safe?

Just saw the news about another 400+ layoffs hitting Cisco, specifically in California. This is on top of previous rounds, and frankly, it's making a lot of us nervous. I'm in networking, and while my team hasn't been directly impacted yet, the constant buzz of job cuts is getting old. Is this just a California-specific thing or a broader sign of trouble? The news articles are all over the place, some mentioning restructuring, others just saying it's happening. Anyone else in the same boat? What's the vibe on the ground? Trying to figure out if I should start polishing the resume or if this is just noise. The company keeps talking about growth and innovation, but then these numbers come out. It’s hard to reconcile. Anyone have any intel on what departments are being hit the hardest or if there’s a pattern emerging?

It's definitely unsettling to see these repeated layoff announcements from Cisco, especially when you're in a related field like networking. The uncertainty is the worst part. I'm also in California and haven't been directly touched, but colleagues in other departments have. It feels like a broad organizational shift rather than something isolated. Keeping an eye on official communications and industry news is about all we can do right now to try and understand the scope of these changes and what they might mean for job security across the board.
