Anyone else feeling the pressure at Citizens Bank?

Been seeing a lot of chatter online about the broader banking sector, and it's starting to make me a little nervous about my position at Citizens. No official announcements or anything concrete, but performance reviews felt extra intense this cycle, and there's definitely a tighter grip on discretionary spending across the board. My manager's been cagey when I've asked about future headcount, just giving vague answers about 'strategic alignment'. It feels like the kind of environment where cuts *could* happen, even if they aren't openly discussing it. Anyone else getting this vibe? Especially from the commercial banking side, is anyone else hearing the same? Just trying to prepare myself mentally if things do go south. It's hard to focus on work when you're constantly looking over your shoulder.

Hang in there. I've noticed the same vibes. The 'strategic alignment' talk is definitely a red flag for many of us. Seems like a company-wide thing, not just specific departments. Trying to focus on my work and deliver, but the uncertainty is palpable. Let's hope for the best, but it's wise to have a backup plan in this climate.

Totally get what you're saying. The intensity in reviews and the spending freeze are hard to ignore. My team's also feeling the pinch. While I haven't heard anything definitive about layoffs, the general atmosphere feels like a prelude to something. It's tough when leadership isn't transparent. Keep your head down and keep performing well, but also keep an ear to the ground.
