CFG - Q3 numbers and what it means for us

Just saw the Q3 earnings report for Citizens. Revenue's up, which is good on paper, but they spent a lot of time talking about 'cost management' and 'strategic realignment.' Heard some whispers from a friend in another division about headcount reviews happening. Nothing official, of course, but the signals are there. It's that classic pre-layoff vibe – lots of internal shuffling, project freezes in some areas, and a general sense of uncertainty. Trying to stay positive and focus on my work, but it's hard not to speculate when you see these trends. Anyone have intel on specific areas that might be more impacted? Trying to prepare myself mentally and professionally.

Interesting take. I noticed the emphasis on cost management too. It's always a balancing act, isn't it? On one hand, efficiency is crucial, especially in this environment. On the other, when it starts feeling like buzzwords for cuts, it definitely creates a bit of unease. Hopefully, it translates into smarter operations rather than just painful reductions.

Thanks for sharing this perspective. The 'strategic realignment' language can definitely be a bit of a red flag for those of us on the ground. While I haven't heard direct chatter about headcount, I have noticed a few projects slowing down and a general push to consolidate resources. It's hard not to connect the dots, even if nothing is confirmed.
