CFI - Is anyone else getting the 'do more with less' message?

Heard a lot of talk recently about 'optimizing resources' and 'driving efficiency'. On the surface, sounds like standard corporate speak, but when you couple it with the hiring freeze that seems to be in effect (despite not being officially declared), and the general lack of new initiatives, it's hard not to feel a bit uneasy. My team's workload hasn't decreased, but the expectation is that we'll manage with fewer resources, or at least no new hires to share the load. Just wondering if this is a company-wide push or if I'm just in a particularly scrutinized area. It's starting to feel like the calm before a storm, and I'm curious if others are picking up on the same signals.

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling that 'do more with less' vibe too. It's like we're expected to stretch every dollar and every minute even further, but the goals and deadlines are staying the same, or even increasing. The hiring freeze is a big giveaway, even if they won't say it outright. It's creating a lot of extra pressure on those of us already here. Hope it doesn't lead to burnout.

Totally get where you're coming from. The 'efficiency' talk feels a bit hollow when you're already swamped and there are no new bodies coming in. It makes you wonder about the long-term strategy. Are they anticipating slower growth, or just trying to boost short-term profits? Whatever the reason, the impact on morale and actual productivity can't be ignored. Feels like we're walking on eggshells.
