CFI - Signs pointing to restructuring? Or just normal business cycle?

0x22d3…b86aLurker here, usually just read the posts about other banks. But things at Citizens feel... off lately. There's been a lot of internal talk about "streamlining operations" and "optimizing resources." Leadership presentations keep hitting on these themes. We've also seen a hiring freeze in some areas, while other teams are unexpectedly consolidating projects. It's creating a weird atmosphere where people are a bit on edge.
I haven't heard any direct rumors about layoffs, but the constant push for "efficiency" and the quiet freeze on backfills makes me wonder. Are they preparing for something bigger? Or is this just how the banking industry operates these days with all the tech changes and economic uncertainty? I'm trying to stay positive and focus on my work, but it's hard not to notice the subtle shifts.
Anyone have insights into what might be going on behind the scenes? Trying to get a sense of the broader picture beyond my immediate team.
