CFI: Anyone else's department looking at 'efficiency gains' again?

Our leadership team has been pushing this 'efficiency gains' narrative pretty hard lately. Lots of talk about optimizing processes and finding ways to do more with existing resources. Usually, this kind of buzzword soup precedes some sort of restructuring or, dare I say, headcount reduction. My team's been asked to document all our current tasks and identify areas where we can 'streamline.' It's giving me a serious case of the jitters. Anyone else's division being put through the 'efficiency' wringer? Curious if this is a company-wide push or something specific to certain business lines.

Yes, my department is definitely feeling the pressure. It's the same song and dance, 'do more with less.' We've been tasked with an exhaustive review of our workflows, and frankly, it feels like they're just looking for excuses to cut costs. I'm bracing myself for whatever comes next, but it's hard not to feel a sense of unease about the future.

Same here. The 'efficiency' push is in full swing. Our managers are talking about leveraging technology and automation, which sounds great in theory, but I suspect it's a lead-up to workforce changes. It's a bit unnerving to have your role dissected for 'optimization.' Hopefully, it leads to actual improvements and not just more stress for the remaining team members.
