Citizens Financial: Signs point to a slowdown, anyone else seeing it?

Been with Citizens for a few years now, and lately things just feel... different. It's not like there are official announcements or anything concrete, but the general atmosphere seems to be tightening up. Fewer external roles being posted, and internal movement feels like it's hitting a brick wall. Managers are being cagey about future projects, and there's a definite hush-hush vibe when you ask about headcount or budgets. It's making planning ahead pretty difficult. Anyone else in the same boat? Trying to gauge if this is just my department or a broader trend across the bank. Feels like something's brewing, but nobody's saying it out loud.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. It's not just a feeling, it's the subtle shifts. The usual open communication about team goals and upcoming initiatives seems to have dried up. Projects that were once greenlit are suddenly on hold or being significantly scaled back. It's creating a lot of uncertainty, and honestly, it's starting to impact morale. Trying to keep motivated when you're unsure about the company's direction is a challenge.

Totally agree. The hiring freeze, or whatever you want to call it, is very real. I've seen several promising candidates get ghosted after initial interviews, which is a departure from their usual process. The lack of clarity from leadership is the most frustrating part. When you don't know what to expect, it's hard to commit your best effort. Hoping for some transparency soon.
