Just saw the news officially hit the wires regarding the 175 roles getting axed at Northampton. It’s a gut punch, especially for those of us who have been here through the last few restructures. The tone in the office today was incredibly somber; it feels like the energy has been completely sucked out of the room. I’ve seen a few people packing up their desks already, which makes it feel incredibly real. Management is doing the usual corporate speak about 'streamlining' and 'future-proofing,' but it’s hard to swallow when you see talented colleagues heading for the door. For those of you asking for details, yes, the number floating around 175 is accurate as of the 18th. If you were one of the people impacted today, I really hope you have a solid severance package and a plan in place. This isn't the company it was five years ago. Stay strong everyone, and for those still here, watch your back and keep your LinkedIn updated.

It’s honestly heartbreaking to read this. I remember when they started talking about 'optimizing efficiency' at the regional sites last year, and everyone knew it was only a matter of time before it trickled down to the core staff. Seeing desks get cleared out is the worst part—it makes the corporate buzzwords feel even more hollow and insulting. Sending strength to everyone caught in the crossfire today. This company has changed so much from the culture we used to take pride in, and it’s becoming harder to see a future here.

Corporate strategy is always cold, but hitting 175 families like this is brutal. They love to throw around terms like 'streamlining' to make these layoffs sound like a noble pursuit for the greater good, but it’s really just about padding the quarterly reports at the expense of loyal employees. Don't let them convince you this is just 'part of the business cycle.' You all deserve better than a scripted email and a cardboard box. Hope everyone finds a much better place to land soon.
