Is anyone actually surprised by the latest Northampton news?

Another 175 people out the door in Northampton. It’s becoming a recurring theme, isn't it? I’ve been with the company for a few years now, and the 'we’re all a family' vibe has completely evaporated. Now it’s just pure corporate jargon and quarterly cost-cutting measures. I’ve seen this pattern before in other big firms, and it never ends with just one round. You hit your numbers, you hit your KPIs, you do the extra hours, and at the end of the day, you’re still just a line item on a spreadsheet to someone sitting in an office thousands of miles away. Is it time to start looking elsewhere before the next wave hits, or is the market just as brutal everywhere else? I’m genuinely curious if anyone here has successfully pivoted to a different sector after getting laid off by Coke. I’m tired of the anxiety and the constant shifting of goalposts. If you got an exit package today, take the time to breathe. The rest of us are just waiting for the next shoe to drop.

It is honestly heartbreaking to watch. I remember when working for them felt like being part of something solid, but those days are long gone. The way they push this 'family' narrative while treating people like disposable assets is insulting. It’s clear they stopped caring about the actual workforce a long time ago, and now it is just a race to see how much they can squeeze out of the remaining staff before the next round of cuts hits. Stay strong, because this place clearly doesn't deserve the loyalty you’ve given them.

That’s the brutal reality of modern corporate culture, isn't it? Everyone is expendable the moment the numbers dip or a board member decides they need a fatter bonus. It’s definitely not just a Northampton issue; it’s a systematic move across the entire operation. You put in the extra hours and hit every target, but the management just sees a spreadsheet that needs trimming. Expecting loyalty from a company that looks at you as nothing more than a variable cost is a mistake. Keep your head down, update your resume, and get out while you can.
