Well, folks, it finally happened. Got the call this morning. Was told my role was being eliminated 'due to restructuring'. I was a Senior Analyst in the Supply Chain department, been with Coke for 8 years. Severance was 2 weeks per year of service + accrued vacation, and they're paying for outplacement services. Honestly, I'm still processing it all. I'm happy to answer any questions, especially if it can help others prepare. This whole thing feels surreal. The meeting lasted all of 10 minutes. I'm just kinda numb right now. Good luck to everyone else...

Wow, that sucks to hear. 8 years is a long time to be somewhere. The severance sounds decent, though. Make sure you REALLY utilize those outplacement services. They can be surprisingly helpful with resume polishing and interview prep. Did they offer any COBRA assistance or anything to help with health insurance during the transition? That's often overlooked but super important. Good luck with the job hunt!

Restructuring, eh? Sounds like BS corporate jargon to me. They probably had some 'synergy' to find. 2 weeks per year isn't bad, but honestly, it's Coca-Cola. They should be doing better. Were there any hints leading up to this, or did it come completely out of the blue? I'd be tempted to reach out to former colleagues to see if anyone else got canned and get the real story. Start networking ASAP.
