Just saw a bunch of locked doors... Anyone know what's up?

Okay, so maybe I'm being paranoid, but I just walked past a section of the building near finance, and a bunch of the office doors were locked and had maintenance notices on them. I've never seen that before outside of actual construction. Is this some kind of weird drill? I'm in sales, so maybe I'm out of the loop, but it felt super ominous, especially with all the 'record profit' emails flying around. Anyone else notice anything strange going on today? I've been here for 5 years and I'm getting a really bad feeling.

Dude, don't freak out. Probably just routine maintenance, like they said. It's end of quarter; maybe they're updating hardware or something to prep for the big reports. Finance is always extra locked down anyway. I wouldn't read too much into it unless you start seeing cardboard boxes being wheeled out. Remember that time they replaced the carpets on the whole floor? It was a nightmare, but no layoffs happened.

Record profits usually mean someone upstairs is thinking about 'efficiency'. Lockdowns, maintenance... it does sound a bit weird, especially near finance. Keep an eye on internal job postings and maybe brush up your resume, just in case. Better to be prepared than surprised. Don't panic yet, but trust your gut. Start networking and feel out other opportunities.
