Networking Advice Needed - Preparing for the Worst

Okay, so even though there's nothing concrete, I'm in Finance and the general anxiety is through the ROOF. I'm starting to dust off my resume and trying to think about who I can reach out to *before* anything actually happens. I've been out of the job search game for 8 years. What are the best platforms for networking these days? LinkedIn still the king? Any recommendations on how to approach people I haven't talked to in years without sounding desperate? And realistically, what's the job market like for someone with a Finance background at Coke? I'm a Senior Analyst, so I'm aiming for similar roles.

LinkedIn is still the main game, unfortunately. Polish that profile! As for reaching out, be specific about why you're contacting them. "Hey, saw you're still at [Company]! I'm exploring my options in the [Finance] space and would love to get your insights on the current market." Short, sweet, and implies you're just doing your homework, not begging for a job. Good luck!

Honestly, preparing is smart, but don't borrow trouble. These anxieties can be self-fulfilling. If there aren't concrete signs, focus on KILLING it at your current job. Make yourself indispensable. THAT is the best networking you can do. That said, keep your LinkedIn updated. It never hurts, and you never know who might be looking.
