Severance Package Qs: What's reasonable after 10+ years?

Hypothetically speaking, what kind of severance package should someone expect after working at Coca-Cola for over a decade? I've seen some articles online but wanted to get some real-world perspective, especially specific to this company. Does anyone have experience with this, either personally or through someone they know? I'm talking about base salary continuation, benefits, outplacement services, etc. Trying to be prepared in case the worst happens with these rumors going around. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Also, is there any difference in severance if you are let go vs. if your entire department is eliminated?

Hey, I've heard Coke can be decent, but it really depends on your level and performance. Aim for at least 2 weeks per year of service, ideally more. Negotiate EVERYTHING. Don't just accept the first offer. Benefits continuation is crucial, especially health insurance. Push for several months of outplacement services too – resume help, networking connections, that kind of thing. Good luck, and don't be afraid to get legal advice if you feel like you're being lowballed.

Honestly, severance packages are never as good as you hope. While 10+ years should get you something, Coca-Cola is still a corporation. Don't get your hopes up for anything extravagant. Focus on updating your resume and networking NOW, before anything official happens. That preparation will be more valuable than any severance they offer. Check your employment agreement for any specific clauses related to termination or severance – that's the only guarantee you have.
