Anyone proactively polishing their resume just in case?

Okay, so nothing official has happened, and I know we're not supposed to panic, but the vibe feels... off. The whispers aren't stopping and with the way the market is, I'm thinking it's better to be prepared than caught flat-footed. I'm in the Media Solutions group, been here 5 years. My manager's been a bit cagey about future projects, which is unusual. Anyone else in a similar boat? What skills are you guys highlighting? Trying to make sure my resume reflects my current contributions but also transferable skills. Might start dusting off my LinkedIn too.

Honestly, I'm in a totally different department, but I've been hearing the same kind of rumblings. My advice? Focus on quantifiable achievements. Instead of 'Managed project,' try 'Led X project, resulting in Y% increase in Z.' If layoffs do happen, having those concrete numbers will make you stand out. And yes, I've updated my LinkedIn too, just in case.

A bit of an overreaction, don't you think? Companies always have cycles and project shifts. Management gets cagey sometimes, it doesn't automatically mean doom. I'd say keep doing your job well and see what happens. Polishing the resume is fine, but don't let it consume you. I saw people panic last year and end up missing out on internal opportunities because they were too busy looking elsewhere.
