Throwaway account here. Been keeping an eye on job postings within Comcast for potential internal moves, and honestly, it feels like the spigot has been turned off. Not only are there way fewer new roles posted, but roles that *were* open seem to be lingering for ages with no updates. My team lead mentioned something vague about 'strategic resource allocation' during our last meeting, which is corporate speak for 'don't expect any new hires anytime soon.' I'm wondering if this is a sign of belt-tightening ahead. We just had a big product launch, which usually leads to some expansion, but it's been the opposite. Feels like management is waiting to see how things shake out before committing to any new headcount. Anyone else seeing this pattern?

I've noticed the same thing. It's not just Comcast, feels like a lot of tech companies are tightening their belts. I've been applying for a few months now and the silence is deafening. Even roles that seem like a perfect fit are going unanswered or get a generic rejection email weeks later. Definitely makes you wonder what the long-term outlook is for growth if hiring is this slow.

Yeah, that "strategic resource allocation" line is a classic. I heard something similar last year when things were supposedly a bit slow. It usually means budgets are being scrutinized heavily and any new headcount needs serious justification. Might be worth looking at other companies if you're trying to move internally or externally. The job market can be tough when companies are in this mode.
