Q4 Budget Cuts? Seeing some odd hiring freezes.

Hey all, I've been with Comcast for a few years now, and lately, things have been feeling... different. We haven't had any official announcements or anything, but I'm noticing a lot of roles that were supposed to be open are suddenly 'on hold indefinitely.' My manager also made a comment about 'belt-tightening' for Q4 and into next year, which felt a bit more pointed than usual. We've also seen a couple of high-profile projects get significantly scaled back or even shelved, which is unusual for this time of year. Is anyone else in engineering or network ops seeing similar trends? Trying to get a read on the general vibe before the holidays. Feels like the usual end-of-year push, but with an underlying tension I can't quite place. Anyone heard any whispers or seen anything concrete that might explain this? Just trying to prepare myself mentally.

Yeah, I'm seeing similar things in my department. Seems like the usual end-of-year push is missing, and there's a general sense of caution. Lots of whispers about budget reviews and strategic realignments, but nothing concrete. Makes you wonder what the plan is for next year, especially with all the talk of expanding fiber. Hopefully, it's just standard seasonal adjustments and not something more serious.

I've heard rumblings about this too. It's definitely unnerving when projects stall and hiring freezes, even if it's not official. Makes it hard to plan and stay motivated when you don't know what's coming. Curious if this is company-wide or isolated to certain divisions. Feels like there's a lot of uncertainty floating around right now.
