Anyone else feeling the unease at Con Edison?

Hey all, posting anonymously because, well, you know how it is. I've been with Con Ed for a while now, and lately, there's just this low hum of anxiety in the air. No official word, no big announcements, but a lot of whispers and a general feeling of 'what's next?' Projects seem to be getting scrutinized more heavily, there's been some restructuring in a few departments, and just generally, the vibe isn't what it used to be. I'm seeing less of the long-term stability that used to be a hallmark of utility companies, especially here. It's making it hard to plan, both personally and professionally. Has anyone else picked up on this? Are there specific departments or roles that seem more affected or vulnerable? Just trying to get a sense of the broader landscape here. Trying not to jump to conclusions, but it's tough when the atmosphere feels so uncertain. Curious to hear if others are experiencing something similar or if I'm just overthinking things. Stay safe out there.

I've noticed it too. It's hard to pinpoint, but there's definitely a shift. More internal meetings that feel different, and a general air of caution that wasn't there before. Makes you wonder what's driving it. Hoping it's just a typical business cycle adjustment, but the whispers are hard to ignore.

Totally feel you on this. The 'what's next' feeling is strong. Seems like every project proposal is under a microscope, and the constant reorgs are definitely unsettling. I miss the old days where you felt like you could plan your career path without this uncertainty. Fingers crossed it blows over soon.
