Unusual quiet in the grid operations department?

Hey everyone, I've been with Con Ed for a few years now, specifically in grid operations. Lately, it feels like things have gotten really quiet. Usually, this time of year, there's a lot of buzz about upcoming infrastructure upgrades, new pilot programs, and even the usual internal shuffle of resources. But lately, it's like a ghost town. My usual go-to channels for project updates are unusually silent, and even informal chats with colleagues in other departments aren't yielding much. Nobody seems to have concrete information on what's coming down the pipeline, which is frankly a little unsettling. Is anyone else in operations or a related field noticing this lull? Are there budget talks happening that we're not privy to? Just trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or if I'm just out of the loop. Feels weird, to be honest.

Perhaps they're in a planning phase for major projects that haven't been publicly announced yet, or maybe there's a strategic shift happening behind the scenes that's keeping things under wraps. Sometimes, when there's a lull, it means significant changes are being meticulously prepared to avoid disruption. It could also be that priorities have shifted to more immediate, less visible operational needs rather than large-scale visible upgrades.

I hear you. It's definitely odd when the usual rhythm of activity in grid ops dies down. Could it be that they're consolidating resources internally or perhaps focusing on preventative maintenance and system optimization that doesn't generate as much chatter? Sometimes the quiet periods are actually the busiest in terms of deep-dive analysis and long-term strategic development. Hopefully, the silence doesn't mean something is being neglected.
