Is anyone else experiencing a pretty significant slowdown on the hiring front at Corning? My team had a few requisitions open for months and they've all suddenly been put on hold indefinitely. Even internal mobility seems to have stalled. On top of that, there are talks about tightening budgets for Q4 and next year, with a focus on discretionary spending. It feels like a pretty clear signal that things aren't exactly booming. I haven't seen any official layoff news, but the combination of hiring freezes and budget scrutiny is making me nervous. Not just you. I've been hearing similar rumblings internally about a pretty sharp hiring freeze across several departments. My manager mentioned that even approved positions are being re-evaluated and some are being put on indefinite hold. The talk about budget tightening, especially for Q4 and into next year, seems to align with this. It's definitely a shift from how things felt even six months ago, when it seemed like they were actively recruiting for many roles. Hoping it's a temporary measure.

Yeah, the hiring slowdown is definitely noticeable. We had a couple of critical roles open for what felt like forever, and they just evaporated. The internal transfer process also seems to have completely stalled out.
