Hey all, been with Cummins for about 7 years now, currently in the advanced engineering group. Lately, the vibe in the office (and on Teams calls) has been... off. Seeing a lot of senior folks looking stressed, and there are definitely more 'reorganizations' and 'synergies' being thrown around than usual. No official word, of course, but the rumor mill is churning pretty hard. My manager is being tight-lipped, which usually means something's up. Just wondering if anyone else in different departments or locations are picking up on the same signals? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or just specific divisions. Anyone have any intel or just feeling the same pre-layoff jitters? Just trying to prepare myself mentally, I guess.

Yeah, I've been picking up on that too. It's been a weird couple of months. Lots of 'strategic realignments' and hushed conversations in the breakroom. I'm in supply chain, and we're seeing some unusual shifts in demand forecasting and supplier negotiations. My gut tells me something's brewing, but trying not to jump to conclusions. Keep your ears open, but also focus on doing your best work. Sometimes these things blow over, sometimes they lead to big changes.

Honestly, 'reorganizations' and 'synergies' are just corporate buzzwords these days. They throw them around every few years to justify restructuring without actually saying anything concrete. Senior folks always look stressed, that's their default setting. Unless there's concrete news or official announcements, I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep doing your job and keep your resume updated, that's always good advice regardless of the office vibe.
