I've definitely noticed a similar trend here. The usual avenues for professional development seem to have slammed shut. My manager mentioned something about shifting priorities, but it sure feels like the purse strings are being tightened. It's tough when you're trying to stay current and grow your skills, only to be met with constant rejections for training requests. Hopefully, this 'realignment' doesn't mean we're expected to stagnate.
That's rough. I haven't personally hit a wall with training requests yet, but I've heard whispers from colleagues in other divisions about similar issues. It's concerning because investing in employees should be a priority, not an afterthought. If the company is serious about innovation and staying competitive, they need to keep us sharp. This sounds like a step in the wrong direction.
