It’s honestly becoming the standard operating procedure at Cummins lately. You see the meeting invites pop up on Friday afternoons and you already know what’s coming. The constant talk about efficiency is just a thin veil for cutting costs at the expense of the people who actually keep the lights on. I’ve been looking at the internal postings, and it feels like the instability is spreading across almost every department. At this point, I’m just trying to keep my head down and finish my projects while I polish my resume on the side. Don't wait for them to decide your future for you.
I’ve heard whispers that this round is hitting the technical support and engineering design teams pretty hard. It’s frustrating because they keep pushing us to hit these aggressive development targets while simultaneously stripping away the resources and staff needed to actually execute them. The leadership team is so disconnected from the shop floor that they don’t realize how demoralizing this constant uncertainty is. If you’re in a role that’s remotely redundant, you’re right to be nervous. Everyone I know is already quietly checking in with recruiters. It’s just not worth the stress anymore.
