Seeing more 'restructuring' talk - what's the real story?

Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of chatter internally about 'strategic realignments' and 'optimization efforts' lately, especially in the engineering and product development departments. My direct manager is being super cagey, just says 'business as usual' but the undercurrent feels... off. Anyone else in R&D or related fields hearing similar buzzwords or noticing any concrete changes that might point to something bigger? Feels like we're on the cusp of something, but no one's confirming anything. Just trying to get a sense of the temperature across different divisions.

I've been hearing the same kind of language around here. 'Synergy' and 'streamlining' are the buzzwords of the month. It's definitely creating some anxiety. People are worried about job security, especially in areas that might be seen as redundant. Hopefully, it's just standard corporate speak and not a precursor to layoffs, but it's hard to ignore the whispers.

Yeah, the 'optimization' talk is making its rounds. My team's workload feels heavier, and there's a sense of urgency that wasn't there before.
