Anyone else feeling the vibe shift? Rumors or just me?

Hey all, been at Datadog for about 3 years now, mostly on the core platform/infrastructure side. Lately, there's just been this... tension? It's hard to put a finger on. Performance reviews seemed a bit more pointed this cycle, and there have been a few whispers about 'efficiency' and 're-orgs' that sound a little too familiar. I haven't heard anything concrete, no leaked WARN notices or anything, but the general atmosphere feels different. Managers seem a bit more guarded, and there's less transparency than usual about future roadmaps. Just wondering if anyone else in different departments (maybe sales, or engineering on a more customer-facing team?) are picking up on similar signals, or if I'm just overthinking things. Starting to feel a little anxious, not gonna lie.

Yeah, I've noticed some of that too, though maybe from a different angle. My team hasn't had any major drama, but there's definitely a feeling that things are being scrutinized more closely. Budgets seem tighter, and every headcount request feels like it needs a dozen justifications. It's not quite 'tension' for me, more like a heightened sense of 'prove your value' that wasn't as strong before. Maybe it's just the market, or maybe it's something specific to DD. Curious to hear if others have more concrete examples.

Hmm, 'tension' is a strong word. I've been here about the same amount of time and haven't felt a significant shift, honestly. Performance reviews are always a bit intense, and 'efficiency' talk is pretty standard corporate speak, especially in this climate. Maybe you're picking up on subtle cues, or perhaps it's concentrated in certain departments? I'd suggest focusing on your own work and staying visible. Unless there's actual news, it might just be a bit of pre-holiday jitters or general industry uncertainty bleeding into the office vibe. Keep your head down and do good work.
