Yeah, I've definitely felt a shift too. It's not just engineering, either. Seems like across the board, things have tightened up considerably. Used to be we'd get a flood of candidates for even moderately interesting roles, now it's like pulling teeth to get even a handful of qualified folks in the door. Makes you wonder what the broader economic outlook is doing to the company's strategy.
From my perspective, it feels like a strategic pivot. Maybe the rapid growth phase is over and they're focusing more on efficiency and consolidation rather than aggressive expansion. Less hiring means less ramp-up time needed for new folks, and potentially a focus on retaining and leveraging the talent we already have. It's a different vibe, for sure.
