Performance Review Season and the Unknowns

With perf review season rolling around, I'm feeling a bit more anxious than usual. Typically, it's just about bonuses and promotions, but this year feels different. There's been a lot of emphasis on individual contributions and impact, which is fine, but also a lot of talk about 'right-sizing' teams based on performance. While there haven't been any official announcements or large-scale layoffs, the whispers about people being 'managed out' or 'performance managed' seem to be more frequent. It's making me second-guess my own trajectory and performance, even though I've consistently met my goals. Has anyone else been through this at DD before, where performance reviews felt like a precursor to something more? Trying to stay positive and focused, but the uncertainty is definitely getting to me. Just looking for some perspective from others who might be in a similar boat or have navigated this before.

Ugh, I feel this. The pressure to quantify every single contribution can be brutal, especially when so much of what we do is collaborative or foundational. It's like they're trying to turn us into spreadsheets. Just trying to stay focused on what I can control and document my wins, but the underlying anxiety is definitely there. Hoping for the best for everyone navigating this uncertainty. Stay strong.
