Heard from a usually reliable source (senior engineer on the platform team) that there's a potential reorg in the works, possibly impacting teams in the NYC office. Apparently, some overlap in responsibilities was identified, and they're looking to streamline things. No mention of layoffs specifically, but reorgs can often be a precursor. Anyone else heard anything similar? Trying to gauge how seriously to take this.

Yeah, I heard similar rumblings last week. A friend on the infra team mentioned something about "optimizing resource allocation" which is usually code for someone's job getting optimized out of existence. Not sure about NYC specifically, but the vibe definitely seems off lately. Definitely keep your resume updated just in case. It's always better to be prepared, even if it's nothing.

Take it with a grain of salt. Reorg rumors are practically a weekly occurrence at Datadog. Remember the 'cloud efficiency' initiatives last year? Turned out to be a whole lot of nothing for most teams. Unless you're specifically told something by your manager, I wouldn't stress too much. Focus on your work, and try not to get caught up in the gossip mill. Easier said than done, I know!
