So, performance review season just wrapped up at DDOG, and honestly, the ambiguity is killing me. We got the usual messaging about 'calibrations' and 'market alignment,' but it feels like a black box. My manager was pretty vague when I asked for specifics, just saying 'everyone is being evaluated fairly.' Fairly by what standard, though? There's been no official word on layoffs, but this level of uncertainty, especially after reviews, always makes me nervous. I've seen past cycles where even good performers were impacted due to 'restructuring' or whatever buzzword they used. Has anyone gotten concrete feedback or heard anything more definitive about how this review cycle might translate into actual headcount changes? Just trying to gauge the temperature here, because the silence is pretty deafening right now.
