Rethinking my time at DDog - what's the vibe?

Hey everyone, Been at Datadog for a couple of years now, and while I've had some good times, lately it feels like there's a weird tension in the air. Performance reviews just wrapped up, and the feedback was... intense. Lots of talk about efficiency and 'right-sizing' without much concrete direction. I'm hearing whispers about reorganizations and a general sense of belt-tightening. Feels like a shift from the hyper-growth days. Anyone else picking up on this? Is it just my department, or is this a broader company thing? Trying to gauge if this is a temporary dip or if the strategy is changing in a way that might impact our roles long-term. Curious to hear if others are feeling the same pressure or have insights into what's happening behind the scenes.

I've definitely noticed a similar shift. The 'hyper-growth' energy seems to be waning, replaced by a more cautious, results-driven approach. Performance reviews did feel particularly sharp this cycle, and the emphasis on efficiency is palpable across teams. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's a definite change from the early days. Trying to stay positive and focus on delivering value, but the uncertainty is definitely a factor.

Yeah, the 'vibe' has changed for sure. Performance discussions are definitely more pointed, and there's a feeling that expectations have been significantly raised, even while resources feel tighter. Heard similar things about potential reorgs and a general 'do more with less' mentality. It's a tough transition from the scaling-up phase. Hopefully, things will settle and clarity will emerge soon.
