Rant

Workload and expectations at Datadog seem to be ramping up.

Is it just me, or has the pace picked up considerably at Datadog recently? I've been here a few years and while it's always been a demanding environment, lately it feels like the expectations are through the roof. More deliverables, tighter deadlines, and a constant push for 'more with less.' It's starting to feel a bit unsustainable, and frankly, a little stressful. Management keeps talking about 'streamlining' and 'maximizing impact,' but it often translates to more work for the same number of people. Anyone else feeling this crunch and wondering if it's a precursor to something else, or just the natural ebb and flow of a fast-growing company?

I've noticed it too. It feels like the company is in hyper-growth mode, and that pressure definitely trickles down. The 'streamlining' talk often feels like a euphemism for getting more out of existing resources without necessarily providing the support to match. It's a tough balance to strike between ambitious goals and employee well-being. Hoping for some adjustments that acknowledge the increased demands.

You're definitely not alone. The pace has been relentless, and it's understandable why people are feeling the strain. While I appreciate the company's success and drive, the constant increase in workload without a corresponding increase in resources or clear prioritization can lead to burnout. It would be good to see more transparency on how these 'maximized impacts' are being measured and if they're truly sustainable long-term.
