Worried about severance... what to expect after 3 years?

Look, I'm not trying to spread FUD, but with everything going on in tech, I'm trying to be prepared. Been at Datadog for 3 years, doing frontend. Anyone have insight into what a typical severance package looks like around here? Is it based on tenure, performance, or just luck of the draw? Trying to figure out my runway if the worst happens. Thanks in advance.

Heard it's generally 2 weeks per year of service, *plus* accrued vacation time paid out. That's the standard I've seen floated around. But tbh, the actual package probably depends on your level and how they structure the layoff. Start updating your resume *now* – better to be proactive than reactive. Hit up your network, too. Good luck!

Honestly, don't stress too much. Datadog is generally considered a stable company, relatively speaking. Layoffs aren't always performance-related; sometimes it's just restructuring. Focus on making yourself indispensable. Volunteer for key projects, document your work meticulously, and be a team player. It's no guarantee, but it can help mitigate the risk. And yeah, polish up that resume just in case!
