Dell Workforce Numbers Down Again - Filing Shows Another Dip?

I was digging through the recent SEC filings (10-Q) and noticed the workforce numbers are down compared to last quarter - and Q1. It seems like the attrition rate is higher than they're letting on, and hiring is definitely frozen in most departments. I'm not seeing any official announcements about layoffs, but the numbers don't lie. Anyone have insights into which departments are being hit hardest by this natural attrition? Is it a case of people jumping ship, or are managers quietly 'managing out' underperformers to avoid official RIFs? This is on top of the RTO mandate, which I think is part of the problem. Just trying to connect the dots here. Is anyone else seeing something similar in their org?

Yep, saw the same thing. I'm in sales, and the pressure to perform with fewer resources is definitely up. They keep talking about 'efficiency,' but it feels more like 'do more with less.' I suspect the attrition is across the board, but customer support and engineering seem particularly strained. People are burning out and finding better opportunities elsewhere. I've started polishing my resume, just in case.

Honestly, I wouldn't jump to conclusions about some massive, hidden layoff plan just yet. Quarterly numbers fluctuate. Maybe some big projects wrapped up, and those contractors rolled off. Or they didn't backfill positions because they're restructuring. Companies are constantly shifting resources. I'd wait for the next earnings call. They'll probably address it then. If they *don't* address it, *then* I'd start to worry.
