Sorry to hear that, OP. Layoffs always suck, especially after that long. Two weeks per year is pretty standard. Doesn't hurt to try and negotiate. Frame it as you needing more runway to find a comparable role given your tenure and contributions. Highlight any recent successes or projects you led. Benefits usually end at the end of the month, but clarify that with HR. File for unemployment ASAP!
Dell's been shedding folks for a while. Two weeks per year is probably their standard offer, so negotiating might be tough. Still, doesn't hurt to ask. Focus on getting everything in writing – severance agreement, benefits continuation details, etc. Consult an employment lawyer for a quick review of the agreement if you're unsure about anything.
