So, performance review season is upon us, and it feels different this year. My manager keeps bringing up 'efficiency gains' and 'streamlining processes' in ways that feel a bit more pointed than usual. It's not just about doing your job better, it's about doing it with fewer resources, or so it seems. There's a lot of emphasis on individual productivity metrics, and it feels like the company is setting the stage for something. I haven't seen any official layoff news, but this push for 'efficiency' during review time has me wondering if it's a precursor to headcount adjustments. Anyone else's management talking like this? Feels like we're being prepped for a 'right-sizing' talk down the line. Just trying to prepare myself mentally if that's the direction things are heading.
