Anyone else feel like they're constantly on edge at Deloitte?

Seriously, I can't be the only one feeling this constant low-level anxiety. I'm a Senior Consultant in the Strategy & Analytics practice, been here for almost 4 years now. Every email, every meeting, I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maybe it's just the usual consulting grind, but I swear the pressure has ramped up lately. Anyone else feeling it? I'm working longer hours for the same mediocre pay.

I hear you. I'm in a different practice, but the last few months have been brutal. Lots of late nights and weekend work, and the client expectations seem completely unrealistic. I think leadership is pushing hard to make up for some revenue shortfalls earlier in the year. Try setting some boundaries, even if it feels impossible. Block out time on your calendar for lunch or a walk, and be firm about not checking email after a certain hour. It's a small thing, but it might help.

Honestly, I think it's just consulting. I've been at other firms, and the pressure is pretty consistent across the board. You're in Strategy & Analytics, so you're basically a revenue generator. They expect long hours and high performance. If the pay is truly mediocre after four years, it might be time to start looking around. Loyalty doesn't really pay off in this industry.
