Deloitte Consulting - AI focus vs. current job security

Reading that article about Deloitte looking to AI to *avoid* future layoffs got me thinking. On one hand, it sounds promising – innovation and efficiency, right? But then we have these recent cuts on July 9th. It feels a bit contradictory, or at least, the timing is ironic. Are these AI initiatives already in play, and if so, why aren't they preventing these current reductions? Or is this more about *future* prevention, and the current situation is just a consequence of prior strategic decisions? It's hard not to feel a bit uneasy about the direction when you hear about investment in future tech while people are still being let go. Anyone else see this as a disconnect? How are people feeling about the firm's investment priorities given the recent news?

It's a bit of a mixed message, isn't it? You see them talking about leveraging new technologies for future stability, which sounds good on paper. But then you hear about recent workforce adjustments, and it makes you question how effective those strategies are in the present, or if the implementation is just lagging behind the reality of business needs. The timing definitely raises eyebrows and fuels the speculation about the company's direction and how it balances long-term vision with immediate operational demands.**
