Deloitte's Strategy Shift - Post-Layoff Implications?

Saw the news about the recent layoffs on July 9th. It's worrying, especially with the articles floating around about Deloitte looking at new strategies to avoid future workforce reductions. What does this actually mean for us on the ground in consulting? Are they really going to lean more on automation and tech to do the work of people? Feels like a double-edged sword. On one hand, maybe it means more stable jobs if the company is better positioned. On the other, it sounds like a lot of our current roles might be at risk if they can 'optimize' them away. Anyone have insights into what kinds of roles are being targeted or what new skill sets they're prioritizing? Trying to figure out how to future-proof my career here.

The strategy shift is definitely a concern. If they're pushing automation and tech, it could mean a few things. Potentially, it might streamline some processes and make our work more efficient, freeing us up for higher-value tasks. However, the fear of roles being replaced is very real. I'm hoping it's more about augmenting our capabilities rather than outright replacement. The communication from leadership on this is crucial right now.
