Just saw a colleague's calendar invite mysteriously vanish - should I be worried?

Okay, this might sound paranoid, but I'm genuinely freaked out. I work in Tax and just noticed that a colleague who I frequently collaborate with suddenly has a completely empty calendar. Like, all the meetings we had scheduled together are GONE from *my* calendar too. I checked to see if they were OOO or something, but nothing. No email, no Slack message, nada. Has anyone else experienced something similar before a layoff? I know things are slow right now, but this feels different. I'm an experienced hire with 5 years at the firm and the thought of suddenly being unemployed is terrifying. Am I overreacting, or is this a legit sign?

I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. Calendar glitches happen all the time, especially with systems like Outlook. Before panicking, try reaching out to your colleague directly via Teams or phone to see if they're okay. Maybe they're having technical issues on their end. It's always better to confirm before letting anxiety take over.

Empty calendar = layoff red flag is a bit of a stretch, IMO. Probably just a system error, or maybe your colleague just reorganized their calendar and hasn't updated everyone yet. Occam's razor, people! If you're *really* worried, casually ask around if anyone else noticed anything similar, but try not to spread unnecessary panic.
