Feeling the pressure after the latest cuts

With 76 people cut in Philly, the remaining workload is already being dumped onto the rest of us. I’ve been at Devon for five years and I’ve never felt this level of job insecurity. It’s not just the fear of being next, it’s the fact that they expect us to maintain the same output with fewer heads. I’m seeing people logging on earlier and staying late just to look busy, but the morale in the office is absolute rock bottom. Is anyone else noticing the 'quiet quitting' starting to turn into 'everyone is looking for the exit' mode? I’ve started applying to competitors this week. It’s a shame, I used to actually like working here, but the constant shadow of these layoffs makes it impossible to focus on the actual job.

It’s the same story across the board. They keep trimming the headcount expecting us to just absorb the extra tasks without blinking. Five years in, you’ve earned the right to be frustrated. The culture has shifted from valuing efficiency to simply milking the remaining staff until they burn out. Watching people try to stay late just to avoid the chopping block is pathetic. If you can, start putting out feelers elsewhere; it’s clear they don’t value the talent currently keeping the lights on. Prioritize your mental health over their bottom line.
