Anyone else get blindsided by the latest round?

Man, I'm still processing the news from yesterday. Saw the LA Times article about [number, e.g., 500] more people being let go. I was at [division, e.g., ABC News] and heard whispers, but didn't think it would hit my team so directly. It's just… demoralizing. You pour your energy into projects, you think you're doing good work, and then suddenly you're out. The lack of transparency is the worst part. We got the generic email, a quick HR call, and then it's over. No real explanation, just 'restructuring' or 'efficiency'. My manager barely knew what was going on, which says a lot. Feeling pretty lost right now. Trying to figure out what the next steps are, but it's hard not to feel completely burned. Has anyone else gone through this recently? Any advice on navigating the job search after being let go like this? It feels like the industry is tightening up everywhere, making it even scarier.

This is rough, and I'm so sorry you and your colleagues are going through this. The way these things are handled often feels so impersonal, which makes an already difficult situation even worse. It's completely understandable to feel demoralized when you've invested so much. The lack of clear communication just adds insult to injury. Sending you strength as you navigate this.

Ugh, this news is heartbreaking. It's a harsh reminder of how quickly things can change in this industry. You're right about the transparency – or lack thereof. It's incredibly tough to process when you feel blindsided and don't get a clear understanding of what happened. Wishing you all the best as you figure out what's next.
