Is anyone actually surprised by the July 21st cuts?

I’ve been sitting here staring at my monitor since the news broke this morning, and honestly, the numbness is setting in. We knew the 'culture of efficiency' line from leadership was just code for headcount reduction, but seeing the numbers attached to the July 21st round is still a gut punch. It feels like every time we turn around, there’s another reorganization or 'streamlining' project that ends with half a floor getting their access revoked. My team is already stretched so thin that we’re barely keeping the lights on, and now we’re expected to absorb the workload of the colleagues who just walked out the door? It’s unsustainable. Everyone keeps talking about AI integration and cutting overhead, but nobody is talking about the institutional knowledge that’s walking out the door with these people. You can't replace thirty years of production experience with a prompt. I’m starting to wonder if the people upstairs even know how the shows actually get made, or if they just look at us as rows on a spreadsheet that need to be trimmed to satisfy the next quarterly earnings call.
