Pixar layoffs hit hard - feels like a bloodbath

Just saw the news about the latest round of layoffs at Disney, and it sounds like Pixar took a major hit. Reading that 'hundreds' are gone, and apparently many from Pixar's creative teams. It's always rough to see talented people lose their jobs, but this feels particularly brutal. I've always admired the work that comes out of Pixar, and it makes me wonder what this means for the future of their storytelling. Is this part of a broader strategy to cut costs, or is something else going on? Feels like a lot of creative talent is being displaced across the entertainment divisions. I'm not sure if anyone else here was directly affected or knows people who were, but the news is pretty unsettling. Makes you think about the stability of creative roles in big studios these days. Just wanted to share and see if anyone else has thoughts or insights.

It's truly disheartening to hear about the layoffs, especially at Pixar. Their films have been such a consistent source of joy and incredible storytelling for so many years. You'd think a studio with such a strong track record would be somewhat insulated. It's hard not to worry about the impact on future projects and the creative environment. Hopefully, those affected find new opportunities quickly.

Yeah, this news is rough. When you hear 'hundreds' and specifically Pixar's creative folks, it really hits home. You can't help but feel for the individuals and also wonder about the direction things are headed. Disney's been making a lot of big strategic moves lately, and sometimes the human cost of those decisions is significant. Let's hope for the best for everyone involved.
