It’s honestly heartbreaking to see the legacy of this place being dismantled piece by piece. We used to take pride in the magic, but now it feels like we’re just numbers on a spreadsheet for executives who have never stepped foot in the parks. Everyone is looking over their shoulder, and the talent drain is becoming impossible to ignore. How do they expect to maintain the brand quality when they're cutting the very people who built it? It's a sinking ship and the leadership seems perfectly content to watch it go down while taking their bonuses.
I think everyone needs to face the reality that this is just business. Sentimentality about being a 'core' department doesn't pay the bills when the margins aren't hitting the targets set by the board. It sucks, sure, but look at the broader industry trends—every major studio is doing the exact same thing to stay afloat in the streaming era. If you’re waiting for transparency or loyalty, you’re looking in the wrong place. The best advice I can give is to stop treating this like a family and start treating it like the high-stakes corporate environment it actually is.
