Anyone else feel like they're constantly on edge at eBay lately?

I've been at eBay for almost 7 years now, in the product management org. Used to love it here, felt like we were actually building something. But the last year or so, it's just been... different. Constant re-orgs, shifting priorities every quarter, and this general feeling of uncertainty in the air. I keep hearing whispers about 'restructuring' and 'optimizing' which, let's be honest, usually means layoffs are coming. Anyone else feeling this way? Am I just being paranoid?

Nah, you're not alone. Been here a similar amount of time, different department though. The constant pivoting is exhausting. Feels like we're chasing whatever shiny object the execs saw at a conference last week instead of focusing on building a solid platform. I'm polishing up my resume, not gonna lie. Better to jump than be pushed, you know?

Honestly, I've been seeing similar posts across other company forums too, so it's probably more of a general tech-industry vibe than specifically eBay. Companies over-hired during the pandemic boom, and now they're course-correcting. Look at your finances, make sure you have a buffer, and maybe network a bit 'just in case'. Being prepared helps with the anxiety, even if nothing happens.
